Workshop A: Tour SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film | 1:30 P.M.

Join SCAD’s resident fashion historian Carmella Spinelli for a virtual tour of the university's very own museum for fashion and film, SCAD FASH. Explore the current exhibition, Derrick Adams: ‘Patrick Kelly, The Journey’ to experience and uncover the meanings and messages found in Patrick Kelly’s spirited fashions of the 1980s.

Workshop B: “Front Page News: Developing a Personal Brand” featuring Sam Eckersly, associate chair of graphic design and visual experience | 1:30 p.m.

Picture this: 10 years from now, your brand is front-page news for achieving greatness. What does the headline say? Have you cured a problem? Grown to be the biggest? Changed the way people do something? What does success look like? This exercise helps you: recognize the biggest goal on the horizon and gives you a strong vision that helps direct your passion and goals.

Workshop A: “The Chemistry of Story: Choosing Language to Captivate an Audience” featuring Quinlan Orear, associate chair of film and television | 2:30 p.m.

Explore the history of oral tradition and the components of compelling storytelling through collaborative exercises and visual prompts. Your imaginations will be ignited while creating stories with specific characters, circumstances, and worlds. Supplies: pen and paper

Workshop B: “Master of Illusion: The Anamorphic Apple” featuring Kent Knowles, professor of painting | 2:30 p.m.

This workshop will introduce a method for creating the appearance of 3D space on a 2D surface. Using basic drawing materials and a little bit of math, you will learn how to draw an apple so that the depicted form appears to occupy space. Supplies: Paper, apple, rule, scissors, drawing materials (graphite pencil, colored pencil and/or markers, and an eraser)
